So far Project Resound is ‘on target’, this means that Blewbury bells cannot be rung until the new window is in place and all the mortar set it.
The clock has also been temporarily stopped while some maintenance work is carried out, all should be back to normal by the beginning of December. This temporary cessation of ringing has given us the opportunity of supporting service ringing at other towers in the Benefice. We have also been very fortunate that Steventon have offered to host our Friday night practices, ringing from 7.45pm-9.15pm, this is a real bonus.
Socially it’s been a good time with the Village BBQ in the Church grounds being very successful. There has also been a weekend away ringing in Kent organised by Helen’s cousin. Blewbury bells may be silent but there is still plenty of ringing available locally so fingers crossed we don’t become rusty!
