It seems a long time since Christmas when lots of ringing took place, and in particular a quarter peal which was rung on Boxing Day during the Boxing Day Walk, an opportunity to congratulate Wing Commander James Doyle (son of Gill Loyd, our treasurer) on his MBE awarded for services to the RAF.
The Churn Benefice Bell Ringing Outing was on January 26th, it was hoped to visit all seven churches in the Benefice and ring the bells plus two guest towers, namely Cholsey and Brightwell-Cum-Sotwell. Unfortunately, this year, South Moreton bells were still undergoing work and were not able to be rung that day. It was lunchtime after ringing at North Moreton and an excellent lunch in the Village Hall. The day continued with ringing at the other Benefice towers, tea at East Hagbourne then ringing at Blewbury followed by a meal at The Blueberry. Thank you to Rob Nickless for organising and to those who masterminded and helped with lunch and tea.
The brief appearance of snow caused a Friday night practice to be cancelled, since then it has been ringing as usual, including welcoming the Branch Learners to a practice.
