All of us are history in the making, which is what I was thinking at our recent meeting.
First, we now have evidence that the Romans may have been here as early as 70 AD, quite a bit earlier than thought until now.
Second, a gift of six pounds per annum left in 1660 for the poor of Blewbury is still part of the United Charities income.
Now, for fun, a question for today:
Who is the oldest person living in the village and born here? If you know, then please tell the History Group.
As you can tell, our meetings range over all sorts of topics and you are always welcome.
Next meeting is Tuesday, June 11th at 8pm in the History Room, Parsonage Lane.
