International Singing Stars to Visit Blewbury in November
The Definitive Rat Pack will be bringing their show – The Definitive Rat Pack at Christmas – to Blewbury Village Hall, Oxfordshire, on November 29 and 30, 2019.
Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra are all international singing legends and they will soon be performing again in Blewbury! The Definitive Rat Pack of Mark Adams, George Daniel Long and Stephen Triffitt, are known as the finest interpreters of this trio and have performed to over one million people worldwide. They are the original cast members of The West End show: The Rat Pack – Live from Las Vegas. The Blewbury performance will include classic Christmas songs such as: White Christmas, Silent Night, Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland, and Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
The reason the trio has selected Blewbury Village Hall for a show that could equally well be performed in the West End or Broadway, is because George Long (Sammy Davies Jr.) grew up in Blewbury, attending both Blewbury Primary School and St Birinus Secondary School in Didcot. His talents as an actor and singer were obvious from an early age as he developed his artistic skills performing with the Blewbury Players, and in Blewbury and St Birinus school productions. He is now back living in the village after making his name as undoubtedly one of the world’s best interpreters of Sammy Davis Jr..
The Definitive Rat Pack will be supported on stage by one of Dean Martin’s Golddiggers and world class musicians, at an event that is being sponsored by MP Resourcing and Little Kickers. Money raised from the event will be divided between the Blewbury Village Hall Refurbishment Appeal, the Blewbury-based Tony Loy Trust, with smaller amounts going to some other local charities.
The Saturday 30th November performance is already fully booked. A few tickets for the Friday 29th November performance (£35 aisle/£65 table with fizz, programme & canapes) can be applied for by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
