The remainder of the photographs, apart from the last two, are in pairs. The first of each pair shows a village scene in an old photograph. Next to or below is a second photograph taken in 1979 of the same scene - hence the 'Then and now' caption.

62. The old Barley Mow with the Gables (now Turnpike House). The thatched barn on the extreme left is next to what is now the Old Wheelwrights and Post Office.

63. The present day Barley Mow which replaced the old building burnt to the ground in 1924. Turnpike House is obscured by the trees on the Pound. The absence of trees in most of the old photographs is quite striking.
