94 (above) and 95 (below). The Old Malthouse, South Street. This, of Blewbury’s many malthouses, continued to function the longest. Of all the old buildings featured in this book, the Old Malthouse has undergone the most dramatic change (apart, that is, from those that have been completely demolished!). The Leach family lived here in 1904 when the old photograph was taken. Dr. C.S. Orwin, the agricultural historian, largely carried out the restoration around the year 1950.

The ladies in the recent photograph are Mrs. Pearl Taylor and Mrs. Maud Corderoy whose families have lived in Blewbury for at least 400 years.
