44. Orson Ebsworth and his wife Isabella outside their Bacon charity almshouse in the churchyard. The almshouse was built in 1733, at a cost of £33.13s., for the oldest and most deserving man in the parish. Orson Ebsworth, who died in 1924 aged 76, also appears in number 57 engaged in sheep dipping at Parsonage Farm. The photograph dates from about 1915. |
