Blewbury WI’s next main meeting is on Wednesday 23 April 2025 and will be Mad, bad and dangerous to know: Lord Byron and his women. Golly, is this going to be too racy for the WI? No, of course not! Lord Byron wasn’t just a poet; he was a rock star of his time – the most prominent and outrageous celebrity of the Romantic era. His relations with women were completely scandalous. This talk explores those relationships, Byron’s extraordinary rise to fame and legend and his unparalleled notoriety for drink, sex and rebellion. Oh – as well as some of best known poetry…to find out more, ring our Secretary, Joy, on 850543 or email blewburywi@gmail.com.
