Karen, Andrew and Sarah are holding a farewell party for Dave the postie, at Blewbury Village Hall, Saturday 28th March, 2pm to 4pm, everyone is welcome to come and say farewell, we will hand over all the donations and cards that have been handed in to the post office, and you will of course be able to give him any more on the day.

The Blewbury Players are supporting a ‘radio play’ performance of the Dice House in the village hall. The Dice House, by Paul Lucas, is an irreverent black comedy inspired by Luke Rhinehart’s cult book The Dice Man which explores the nature and limitations of free will. What happens if we make all decisions based on the whim of a dice? The performances in February will be rehearsed readings so the cast will be reading from scripts by their microphones in the style of a radio play. Whilst this won’t be a full production, there will be an opportunity to get involved in other aspects of theatre; sound, lights, production, stage management, front of house, costume if people want to. This month we say a heartfelt thank you and farewell to Dave, our wonderful postman, who is retiring after many years of dedicated service to Blewbury and the surrounding villages.
A fine crop of Boxing Day skits was enjoyed by a large crowd at the Village Hall.
Westbrook street will be closed at Bohams Cottages between 14th and 21st January 2026, for electrical work.
The village hall / post office / doctors etc will only be accessible by vehicle via Church End and Berry Lane. We believe that pedestrians will still be able to get through.
Access to Grahame Close & Westbrook Green will be available via Westbrook Street.

Mark will inspire us about woodland creation through the lens of our very own Quaker Wood. He will talk about what we can expect in the first five years of growing trees. He will say how he selects species for wood creation and refer to other woods that he has planted in Oxfordshire. Mark is doing a research trial on the beech trees at Quaker Wood; he will explain this project. Tickets on the door (opens at 7.45pm) cost £8 (includes a drink).
